Cold weather battery performance?

I’ve done two rides recently in very cold conditions (approx. 10F), and in both cases my battery life was shockingly short. On the first one, battery went from 100 to 0 in less than 4 hours. On the second ride, it went from 100 to 30 in about 1.5 hour. In more temperate climates, I’ve gotten the advertised 15-20 hours of battery life.

I was just going to write it off to the extreme cold, but my buddy’s 1030 was at 92% after today’s ride.

has anyone else experienced this? Do I have a defective battery?

Unsure if it was the cold now that caused my issue. The cold weather ride was the same day I updated to Firmware 7.0 (when my ride almost drained the battery in 10-15 degrees F).
I decideded to charge it up to 65% and start a fake (road ride) and set the device on my table for an hour while connected to my phone. It drained 25% of my battery just sitting here on my table in one hour with the backlight OFF. Looks like I'll 'Restore' the device...again. This is also my 'New in box' warranty replacement (not a refurbish as they were out of those). Ive only done the one ride with it. If it is a bum battery, hopefully support is easy to work with to get me ....yet another replacement. :-(

    **EDIT**
Last night must have been a fluke. I charged it back up to 100% again without a factory reset. It will charge to 100 but as soon as I unplug it , it immediately goes to 98% (I topped it off several times to make sure it wasn't a one time thing). Strange for a brand new device. I'm going to try giving it a FULL battery cycle and see if maybe it's a calibration thing.
However, I did set the device on my desk at work and started a 'road bike' activity connected to only my phone (lost GPS signal at my desk due to being in a tower). It's 1 hour in and went from 98 to 95 percent battery.

So I think my battery is FINE now - not seeing any funky drains today.

Regarding the cold weather drain performance tho, hopefully it's just a display issue (most likely is)- and hopefully that can be fixed.
