FW 7.0 : transfers between devices

Supposed to fixed ! Not for me, it's still working randomly at best. Still useless...
Must be using the same bugged chip causing persistent (more than a year) problems in the "Connect Functions"... features, phone and remote.
Is it me or has someone been able to make it work ?

    I see what you are saying now. The transfer is always done using FIT files. You are saying that depending on what data type was used to produce the FIT file that transfer may not work.

    If you can post the the FIT file produced from the TCX file and the FIT data was loaded on to the Edge I can look to see how they differ.

    But I will check with my friends that still own Edges 1000 if we're able to transfer originally saved « .tcx » between us.

    I'm watching that thread and since I have one Edge 1000 and one Edge 1030 I did some tests:

    What I did:
    -I dropped all 3 files (fit, gpx, tcx) into Edge 1030 NewFiles
    -Edge 1030 converted/placed the 3 files into courses as fit files
    (it seems, the original fit-file was not altered or further converted)
    -I compared the 3 fit files by GarminBasecamp and FitfileRepairtool (Krallman) - see below...
    -I sent all 3 fit-files via device-transfer to my Edge 1000 (not at once but one after the other)
    -All 3 file-transfers went well
    -I deleted the 3 course-fit files on my Edge 1030
    -I transferred the files back from Edge 1000 to my Edge 1030
    -All 3 file-transfers went well

    Differences in _fit and _gpx,_tcx files (as course-fit files in Courses-folder of Edge)
    1) Sangiovese_fit_course.fit:
    file size: 20.874 kb
    Elevation graph starts at -404 m (!)

    2) Sangiovese_gpx_course.fit and Sangiovese_tcx_course.fit:
    file size: 60.502 kb
    Elevation graph starts at -4 m (which seems to be ok for Riccione/Italy)
    Interesting is: the both files are of the same size but are not identical what is shown by a binary comparisation.
    But what you'll get in BaseCamp is identical!

    Conclusion:
    Since I have no second Edge 1030 I'm not really a great help for you...

    But, as you said, there is one last test to do : 1030 to 1030 with the 3 files.

    I tried transferring the 3 files between two Edge 1030 units and it worked. First I tried transferring them one at a time and that work. Next after deleting them from the receiving unit I sent them all across at once and they all transferred.

    It sounds like you might need to back your settings up and do a reset on both units and then restore your settings.

    That's what I did... and it's working... for now.
