Does FIT File Record Varia Light Disconnects?

I had a bad accident in the summer when making a slow turn across a junction my bike suddenly slid sideways underneath me. The conditions were dry, there was no dirt or gravel on the road, and no potholes. The only clue I have was that when I was re-united with my bike, my rear Varia light was missing - not just the light but the Garmin mount and rubber band too. This got me wondering if as I turned, the light mounting chose that moment to fail, fall off my bike and jam the rear mech causing my back wheel to lock and slide. I know it seems far fetched, but I'm running out of explanations.

I would have thought I'd have noticed a disconnection message on my 1030 if I'd lost it any earlier on the ride, but is there any way of identifying from the FIT file at what point it disconnected?

Thanks,

Neil

  • Thanks Mike,

I tried Fit File Explorer (as I'm a Mac user) but that didn't show anything, and running the file through fit2tcx gives a lot of detail, but aside from the "regular" metric logs and the hrv readings, I can't fathom out whether any of the other entries are relevant or not, such as:

    = TYPE=4 NAME=source NUMBER=22
    --- timestamp=904658864=2018-08-31T14:07:44Z
    --- unknown0=2=device2
    --- unknown1=2=device2
    --- unknown3=1=device1
    --- unknown5=5=5
    --- unknown6=4=4

    = TYPE=5 NAME=battery NUMBER=104
    --- timestamp=904658855=2018-08-31T14:07:35Z
    --- unknown0=4230=4230
    --- unknown1=-92=-92
    --- charge_level=91=91 %
    --- temperature=45=45 deg.C

    = TYPE=15 NUMBER=125
    --- xxx253=904658855=904658855
    --- xxx3=99=99
    --- xxx4=4=4

I have worked out that my back light was initiated as "device6", but apart from that there's no reference to device6 in the log, so I'm guessing the info I want isn't there.
