Brand new Edge 1030 today. All going well including Bluetooth connection to iPhone and Garmin Express but after firmware update it wont turn on. I get the "Garmin" startup screen flash twice and then it goes off. Tried holding down power button and it just does the same thing over and over. Tried holding down lap button during power on and the screen stays on for a few seconds longer then goes off. Plug into PC USB port and it does the 2 flash thing and goes off and doesn't show in the PC devices list.

Try to Force to Mass Storage -
Turn unit off. Hold the lap/reset button while plugging the unit into the USB. Continue holding the lap/reset for 30 seconds and the unit should go to mass storage.

Thanks peteonbike but the same result. The Garmin screen lasts a few seconds longer then it turns off again and nothing....
  • Sounds like a corrupted update file due to the device being removed from your PC while file was being transferred. If you could see it in your PC the solution is to remove the update file, but it seems you can't even do that. If you get that working remove the gupdate.gcd file
