Komoot replied that the Edge 1030 is compatible. I guess they didn’t read the question carefully re my question about why the Bontrager 1030model doesn’t work but Garmin 1030 model does work with Komoot. Even the box says Bontrager Garmin Edge 1030 GPS computer.
Send them the exact Garmin part number for both the Edge 1030 and the Bonty Edge 1030 and make it clear that you are referring to 'CIQ device app'. You emailed [EMAIL="[email protected]"][email protected][/EMAIL] ?

The Bontrager offers some light network features for Bontrager lights that are equipped with a sensor, plus if one rides a Trek bike, the 1030 can be setup to track mileage and send recommended maintenance notifications, much like maintenance reminder recommendations one receives from car manufacturers for ones car. That's all. Same price. Same hardware. Little software tweaks.
A friend at a local Trek dealer has the Bontrager 1030 and had a similar problem with an early version of the (IIRC) Strava Routes CIQ app, it turns out that the developer has to specifically add the Bontrager 1030 as a supported model when packaging their app — in addition to the Garmin 1030.

The Bontrager Light Network CIQ app and RT (ANT+) lights work with the “regular” Garmin Edge 1030 — and also the 820 and 1000.
It’s only their Bike Chooser and Bike Garage apps that are exclusive to the Bontrager 1030.
