New Public Beta 6.44 Now Available

A new Beta software for the Edge 1030 has been released. Full change log, instructions, and software for installing the beta can be found here.

For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

[h=4]Changes made from version 6.43 to 6.44:[/h]

Fixed elevation zooming issue with large courses/activities/segments (>100mi or km).
Fixed ANT sensor battery low notifications.

[h=2]Installation Instructions[/h]

Connect your Edge 1030 device to your computer using the micro-USB cable.
Download and unzip Edge1030_644Beta.zip and place the GUPDATE.gcd file in the \Garmin folder of your device's internal storage drive.
Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the Edge, and wait for the update to finish.
If you would like to revert to the last public release software, follow the above steps but place the GUPDATE-630.GCD file in the \Garmin folder. Rename the file to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device.
NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.

Ignore this. It worked on the third try.
(Shawn, can you confirm the gupdate file in the zip file is the correct one. Mine is date 16/11 and it did not update when installed on my garmin)

I had no problem installing the update over 6.43. I just dumped the gupdate.gcd in the Garmin folder and disconnected from the PC.

Elevation issue is fixed and powertap calibrate prompt has returned. Thankyou.

Following on from the fixes in 6.43. Sharp bend warnings are still being displayed when navigating a course.
Any turn greater than 90 degrees is accompanied by a sharp bend warning

hotdogpartysausage, I allways have understood that on the Edge 1030 the Sharp Bend Warnings can be switched off by a setting in the menu? I own an Edge Explore (2018) which gives also those (...) SBW's, but they cannot be disabled thusfar (firmware version 3.00). Garmin promised to fix this in the next firmware update. Still waiting, waiting....

Yes, the 1030 does allow the turning off of the sharp bend warnings.

Yes, on the first ride I have turn it OFF , but after that I realized that if is working as it should , it is very very good option for an course with descents

Yes that's correct there is a setting and have sharp bend warnings disabled in all my activity profiles but they still get displayed despite being disabled.
