Deleting 'rogue' activity from my Edge 1030

I have a 'rogue' activity on my Edge 1030, how do I get rid of it ?
It shows in 'History -> Other Activities' but the Edge doesn't give me the option to delete it. If I select the trash bin icon the activity does not appear in the subsequent page where the checkboxes are shown next to each activity. It's a running activity (I never run, only cycle) and it shows zero distance/speed/elevation/duration etc etc. I have no idea where it came from.
How can I get rid of it, any ideas ?
Can I delete it via my laptop when the Edge is connected ?
Thanks in advance.
  • If you connect your Edge to your computer, it should mount as a drive. Then open it and go to the /Garmin/Activities folder. All you activities should be liste there - each activity is a separate file. You can delete the file and it should then be gone for good.

Yes, that's right, I've already removed it from there but strangely it still shows on my Edge in History -> All Activities.
Is it also stored somewhere else on my computer ?
I figured out where it came from, it actually originated from my Forerunner HRM watch. It got uploaded from there to Garmin Connect (via Garmin Express I assume) and then must have somehow got sync'd down to my Edge.
I've removed it from my Forerunner and from Connect but it's still on my Edge.
Not really a big deal, but it's bugging me. I thought it was causing another problem with an activity failing to sync from the Edge to Connect but that seems to have mysteriously fixed itself overnight, it now syncs ok. Not sure what that was all about.
This rogue activity is still making my OCD muscle twitch though.
    Thanks for your reply Martin68.
  • It this as part of the Physio TrueUp feature. You would need to disable it in Garmin Connect Mobile for the Forerunner

Sorry, I don't know what that is, I don't think I have it on my Foreunner
  • Read what was said, it's Physio Trueup. This is a feature supported on later Forerunners and Edge devices that is turned on/off via the Mobile App - Garmin Connect Mobile. Go into the app, go to Devices, Device Settings, and you will find the switch there.

Made no difference, it's still on my Edge
  • Does it have icon by it in the ride history list like a bicycle or runner? If so it is there as part of syncing the activities from other devices.

See post #4 in this thread.

    Spot on !
Yes, I had about a dozen activities in the 'Other Activities' folder on my Edge, they were all bike rides apart from this one which was a runner.
They will have come from my Forerunner HRM watch initially, I deleted them from there but they haven't 'un-synched' from the Edge.

I deleted everything (approx a dozen) in the Summary folder and they have all now disappeared from my Edge, and so has the 'Other Activities' folder itself, which was a surprise !
Anyhow, glad to have got rid of all of these, as well as the 'ghost' run activity.

That's teriffic - thanks very much Alan
    Cheers !
