I'm a newbie to Garmin devices, I'm now using a 1030 and I'm pretty happy with it. My problem with Garmin Cycle Map EU 2018.10 is that it is almost impossible to follow a course at night; the map displays in day mode even at night, but the colour of the track to follow changes to night mode - white. The white track is virtually impossible to see on the day mode map. Is there a fix? I hope that the next map update does display in night mode at night. Any idea when the next update will come out?
This is a known issue with the 2018.10 EU map. It is reported to be fixed in the 2018.20 release when that comes out, which should be soon as the NA map has already been released.
If the map is the problem, then try with other map, Openstreet and see if it's ok
I did an test in GPS demo mode with Eu Garmin map (2017 ) and looks ok, maybe you can search that version, If you don't find it I will upload somewere for you I dont know if you can keep the rest of the files and overwrite only the map
Thanks, krazyeone. I live in the UK so I can use Talkytoaster's map ( https://talkytoaster.me.uk/ ), which I've put on an SD Card. This map does work in night mode. I revert back to Garmin 2018.10 EU map during daylight hours. Yes, you're right, the 2017 EU Map worked fine. Not sure how I'd roll back to 2017 though. It doesn't matter, as I say, I do have a map that works. Bit peeved that Garmin released the 2018 map with the night mode bug. Hopefully the new map, which aweatherall (thanks to you too) reckons may come out soon, will work in night mode
