Phone connection turns off my edge 1030

I haven't had a problem until this morning. I'm on 6.30. I noticed my Samsung s7 wasnt connected to my edge. I turned my Bluetooth off and then on again on my s7 and the edge just turned off. I repeated several times and it kept happening. I did a soft reset and then a hard reset. No joy. Now it won't even connect with my phone. When it gets to the bit through the Garmin connect app where it says your phone is connected, with a big tick, the edge powers off. On restarting, the edge hadn't connected and is showing not paired with any phone. Connect mobile shows the 1030 but disconnected.
anyone have any ideas?
  • It looks like uninstalling Garmin connect from my phone and reinstalling my have fixed this
  • Does it something to do with latest Garmin Connect app?
Today I had some issues with connecting from phone
  • This sounds exactly like the issue I had three weeks ago (see my post of today). Went into a rebooting loop midway through a long ride, and the trigger for the restart seemed to be the phone connecting each time. The only possible trigger I can think of is that I allowed the Edge to go to sleep during a rest stop - this behavior started immediately I woke it up - never happened before.

For me the 'fix' was a full reset of the device, removal and re-adding of the Edge to Garmin Connect. Don't remember whether I re-installed Connect itself though. Every since, however, I've been having connectivity issues, with both BT and Wifi.

What version are you on, 6.30?
