Edge 1030 and Varia Radar 510 problem

Everything works as expected except one function but unfortunately the key one. There are no loud alarms when a car occurs. I see it on the screen but no sound. I had the item "tones" on in both 1030 system menu and sensor menu. I reset 510 and paired it again several times but no help. The firmware is the latest one in both devices (6.0 and 3.40). Is there anybody with the same devices with the loud alarm working ? What should I do ? The bad thing is that I bought the devices in two different shops so I can hardly ask one of them for repairing the system as a whole.

The beep sound can be really soft. I usually can't hear mine, especially when a loud truck is coming from behind. But sometimes people riding next to me can hear the beep from my Edge when I can't. So I would suggest holding your Edge in your hand, maybe even close to your ear, for a moment when the car approaches you to verify what's your problem - no sound at all or sound being too soft.

It's beeping for me. As volodp mentioned, it's not very loud, but I can always hear until I hit 50km/h downhill. Then the wind noise takes over.

Does it beeps less than in the other cases ? If so, then it does not make sense.

Mine beeps ok,not that loud but 99% of the time I can hear it ok

I kept on pairing and unpairing 1030 with RTL and made it beep somehow. To be honest I do not how, but it beeps now.

I have the same problem. I opened a ticket with Garmin support and got some feed back that Garmin Engineering was checking to see if they could make the tone adjustable. I haven't gotten any update on if or when yet.

For all of you having problems hearing the RTL510 alerts, please open a ticket with Garmin support. I was told several months back that I was the only one who had opened a ticket on this issue. So the more folks we have asking for a fix the better chance we have of getting one.
