Distance Datafields

Hi

Can you please tell me, what the differences are of these two fields:
1) Dist. to Dest.
2) Dist. to Go

When I use navigation, both fields show the same value, namely the distance to the end position of the route.
When I use a training with a distance target, a value is only shown in 2).
I think it doesn't make sense to have 2 separate fields for this or why is that ?

And what is the differences of:
3) Course Pt. Dist.
4) Dist. to Next

As in the description, I guessed they should show the nearly the same value during navigating, but when I use navigation, 3) shows almost the same distance like 1) and 2) however, 4) shows the distance to the next waypoint of the route.
So as I was on a route, the values were as follows:
1) 16.75 km
2) 16.75 km
3) 16.31 km
4) 315 meters

Thank you
Tom
  • 1- this is the distance remaining in the track. If you go off course and return to the track, this number will be updated to the distance remaining at the point you returned to. That is, this is the track distance remaining from the current track point.

2- from your description of the behavior of this with the "distance target", this should be the distance remaining regardless of the track.

3- Course point distance is the distance to the next course point. Course points are sort-of waypoints embedded in tcx files.

4- Dist to next is the distance to the next turn calculated for turn guidance.
  • 3) Course Pt. Dist.
If you are on the course, it will calculate the distance from the end, if you are off course, it will calculate the distance between you and the nearest course

    No.

  • TomGo is use garmin gpx files
I actually experience the process, indeedciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1399042.jpg
  • So, course pt distance is used differently for gpx than for tcx.
