Strange behaviour of Cycliq Fly12CE Headlight when paired with Edge 1030

I have a Cycliq Fly12CE headlight/camera paired to my Edge 1030 via the Sensors on the 1030.
I have my light network mode set to 'Auto' in Network Options on the Edge.

I believe that this means that the Edge willl switch on the Fly camera when I first power-up the Edge, and the light will switch on when I start the timer (according to thr relevant setting).
Also, the intensity of the steady light beam and the flash should vary according to the ambient light/darkness.
And then the light should switch off when I switch off the timer, but the camera will stay on until it recognises that it's been idle for 15 minutes.

I find that that when I'm riding with the light on and camera running it will randomly switch off the light. Doesn't seem to be a pattern, just random.
It could be that it happens when it transitions from day to night intensity. Perhaps.

To switch it back on, I have to swipe down on the home screen, go to the Light Mode screen and then manually select 'solid' or 'flash' to get it back on again.
Once I have done this the light stays on, in fact it also stays on once I have switched the timer off at the end of the ride.

Any ideas why this might be happening ?
I'm quite happy to believe that I don't fully understand how this is supposed to work.

I have just had a thought that when I switch the light back on via the Light Mode screen, I am effectively overriding the lght setting and therefore I need to use the 'cancel override' option in order to allow the light to switch off when the time is switched off.

Still doesn't explain the random switch-off though.

Any thoughts or insight out there ?

Thanks

I'm seeing random turn on and turn off as well. I also have the Cycliq Fly 6CE in the network. Can't figure out the sequence. Will start looking more closely.
