experience with Fw v6.00

Hi there, I don't have this yet, are there any positive/negative feedbacks from those who have tried it already?
Is it worth it?

Like another user reported some of my rides don't upload over the air. So I tried GC and get this error....this now looks like a backward upgrade. I've more problems than on V5! Extraordinary....sigh.

I had exactly the same 'unknown file type' message when I used GE to send a segment to device. So, 1030 had created the ride and sent it to GC which extracted the segments satisfactorily except not to the satisifaction of the 1030. Ludicrous that G's own software cant communicate effectively and on its flagship product too.

Now, ignore the fact that I'm a truly rubbish climber and consider what the attached pic is telling you - somehow the 18/8 ride was uploaded without this segment and yet that segment is on the device. That is the reverse of other segments which are not on the device at all! Irritating enough but for some reason it means that I'm excluded from the 'everyone' leaderboard although I feature in the 'me only' leaderboard. As an example I have 72 listed times for one segment and I am second fastest of the 3,900 who've crossed it, but I don't figure on the everyone leaderboard. If there is a number of segs limit - why and how does it prune? Not by frequency or most recent that is certain. Just think, the 1030 was launched over 12 months ago.

Same issue went for a ride the other day and 3 miles in 0% battery I thought maybe I just forgot to turn off the unit which I think I have never done before there's a first for everything :) On today's ride after saving and powering the unit off, the Edge 1030 powered itself on 3-5 minutes later and since I do not use the auto off feature this is what most likely caused my first issue :(

HI, I think it was a one off and like you, I'm certain that I did not turn it off. What I do see is that the battery status reads high after charging but drops fast as battery depletes eg I'd expect % life to have read 60-65% after Saturday but it showed 85% and then, some 40 miles (4 days) later it is showing only 16%. I don't believe that 16% and it charged up to 58% very quickly. Given the vast range of problems we're all seeing with the 1030 I (regrettably) see it as just one of those things. Certainly, prior to v6.00 battery life indication seemed sensible, but now its just another distraction increasing the sense of disillusionment and making me feel less safe. This should not be the case for a device that was released to market over a year ago as the flagship product of the market leader
  • I thought that 1030's battery is great, because it shows 100 % most of the time :) I was wrong.. Yesterday, just before a race, I turned the device on and it showed 2 %. Fortunately, I had time to charge it a little bit...
