Did a 77km ride in France, everything works fine with FW 6.0: GPS, Livetrack, TBT navigation, sensors, auto stop/pause, connect with Garmin Connect on iPhone 8, no crashes. Again very happy with this firmware.
I am also quite happy with 6.0 fw. The first day's LiveTrack was stable and ok, but it seems to be lost again. Today I also had problems with Strava Beacon. Sometimes the unit turns itself back on again. Apart from that I am happy with 6.0
No real issues here, install worked fine, routing works fine, all native Garmin stuff works fine.
With Xert fields it looks like it looses connection as soon as I ride into another country (I live on the Border of Belgium/Netherlands and close to Germany) When I start riding at home the Xert fields are fine but shortly after I crossed the border they report a connection error message. I'm 100% Garmin connect still has its connection with the internet but maybe Xert does some authorisation stuff and detects an IP change as a result of the carrier change. Anyway nothing really troublesome.
In another thread, I said files transfert between two 1030 were working again with FW6. I have to recuse myself. They are not working. Yesterday, I got the files transferts working. Today, they are not. For me, still useless... Like the remote with a phone connected or the recalculate function.
After a ride the 1030 turned itself back on right a couple of minutes after I had powered it off. Battery at 80%. Sync with express after ride results in error see photo. Syncing 1030 with wi-fi and the ride successfuly upload to connect and strava as normal.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1395956.jpg
Some improvements with livetrack and BT connection. still no sms messages being shown. As others have reported takes two attempts to shutdown aa first attempt fails and it reboots after 5 minutes.
Building up of the map frames takes up much more time now. So zooming in or out is now a hassle. Reminds me now on my edge 705. Battery life seems to be significantly shorter since the update. Connection with iPhone works much better.
This may have happened to me. End of ride Saturday 52% battery, lunchtime today 0, seems the only explanation. Will charge it and check periodically.
Same issue went for a ride the other day and 3 miles in 0% battery I thought maybe I just forgot to turn off the unit which I think I have never done before there's a first for everything :) On today's ride after saving and powering the unit off, the Edge 1030 powered itself on 3-5 minutes later and since I do not use the auto off feature this is what most likely caused my first issue :(
