How many courses can you save?

Doing a ride this Sunday. There are multiple ride options including a metric and an 80 mile ride. There are Ride with GPS courses for each. I plan to make a game day decision on which ride to take. Unfortunately, I seem to only be able to load one ride into the Garmin. Am I doing something wrong?

    As long as the filenames are unique, you should be able to store hundreds of courses in the device. So, check your filenames :)

    It also depends on available storage ... based on my experience, there will be no problem loading multiple routes invitational rides on the unit. I do it all the time.

    Thanks for the replies. File names are close that may be the issue. I will adjust and retry.

    I've stored up to about 70 courses on my 1030 - enough courses for a six week tour with alternate choices for a lot of the days. I named them 01_, 02_, etc, with 01a_ etc for alternate choices for a day, and removed them from the device as we rode each day. That meant the the next course I needed was always at or near the top of the list when I went to saved courses.

    I have noticed in the past that the name on the edge is shorter than the website. I am not sure how many character the Edge is actually using to ID the course but it is truncating the name. So if the courses have long names, make sure there is a difference near the beginning, else only the latest course uploaded will show.

    Examples that will work fine (difference at the beginning of the long name):
    v1 The long ride to nowhere going through the mountains of despair and the desert of suffering
    v2 The long ride to nowhere going through the mountains of despair and the desert of suffering

    Examples that will cause issues (difference at the end of a long name):
    The long ride to nowhere going through the mountains of despair and the desert of suffering v1
    The long ride to nowhere going through the mountains of despair and the desert of suffering v2

    By my experience it is 100 courses maximu. I was fighting with my synchronisation a lot lately. Then noticed that I have exactly 100 courses in the folder Courses folder on Garmin edge 1030 - I have deleted some and from then the sync is working again.

    No guesswork is needed - it's written in the tech specs of Edge 1030 (and PLUS)

    The limit is 100 courses and it is documented. You can have much more than that in your Connect account but clean the device to not exceed the 100 limit. I regularly simply delete all the courses from the device and transfer courses as I need them using the Connect Mobile App over BT.
