Segment Explore - not signed in

I switched from an 810 to the 1030 and I'd like to use Strava live segments. But when I go to the Segment Explore page it says: " Not signed in. In order to search segments, you must sign in to your Strava account using your Garmin Connect account or the Garmin Connect Mobile App." (see image). However, I am signed in on the app (it says that I'm using Strava segments and there's a "Launch Strava" button which I clicked) and my Strava and Garmin Conect account are connected. What am I doing wrong? I do see a starred segment in the segment list, after I sync the device using Garmin Express.
  • I just got my Edge 1030, it's up to date, I have a Strava Summit account, I'm logged in through the Connect app and I'm experiencing the same problem.
  • All, for some reason I managed to get it to work. I'm not sure if all steps are required to get it to work. But I will explain what I did:
    Remove Strava Routes App from Connect IQ apps on 1030 device and garmin connect mobile app
    Remove garmin 1030 from garmin connect mobile.
    Add garmin 1030 as device including new bluetooth connection via garmin connect mobile app to garmin 1030.
    Enable all possible access for Garmin Connect app on my phone to all applications including notifications
    Add Strava Routes App from Connect IQ apps on 1030 device
    Open Strava Routes app on Garmin 1030, on your mobile phone you receive a pop up message requesting your approval to access strava. You approve the request.
    In sträva app, you add a route (I didn't enter any routes in Strava)
    Then go to your garmin 1030, swipe over the screen and then I noticed Segment Explore shows the segments (marked with star) are displayed.

    Personally I think it has to do something with not having a Strava route in Strava registered and also garmin connect not having access to Strava.

  • It works for me now. I did nothing different from the other day. This time when I went to the Segment Explorer screen it was waiting for GPS signal so I walked outside and my starred segments showed up along with the other segments around my area.

    Okay, guys, now it's working for me as well. A few days ago, it just started working! For me this was the only thing not working properly. until now, I'm quite happy with the 1030.
