All this shows are two different modes, it still doesn't answer the question(s). How is your network setup on the Edge? (pull down control panel) Do you have your lights set for Auto or Individual mode? The flash/double flash mode is normal for daylight flash if selected (Individual mode) or if you are riding in daylight conditions and have Auto selected. Battery life differs depending on the flash mode selected. If you are using it, disregard, or uninstall, the Bontrager Connect IQ app as it has never worked properly anyway. I recommend setting your light(s) to Individual mode and the flash mode you prefer. And, again I ask, does your light setup start automatically when a ride is started?

The network is configured in auto mode for both version v5 and version v5.27. I have always used Bontrager's IQ application and have never had any problems. The mode that I select is All Day Flash, I have the start in automatic when the activity starts
In the video you can see the difference in the flicker and in both videos the configuration is exactly the same, just change the software versión.
  • Forgot to mention that on beta 5.27 my 1030 started to become really laggy. It was like 2-3 seconds before a response after a press. That was super annoying...!
  • It's still not possible to create a route across borders. Route calculation will hang at 80% and will never finish.
This is very annoying when you live very close to 3 country's frontiers.

Just did a route calculation on a route that crosses Netherlands/Germany border twice, no problems. Are you sure your GPX is ok?

I am not talking about following a saved course. I am talking about navigation from a place A to a place B.
For example, you are in Heerlen/Netherlands and want to navigate to Aachen/Germany, you would select navigate, search for your destination and start.
The Edge is not able to do this when the route has to cross frontiers.
I believe this is introduced with the new 2018 maps.

I tested this with a navigation between Serbia and Hungary and got the same result as you, the calculation stuck at 79%.
I also have the latest 2018 maps.

Might be a silly question... What routing mode are you using for the activity profile?

None of the routing modes worked, on some routing modes it stuck at 79% and on some at 80%

Ah got you. I had some cross border issues in the past on my E1000 and could only navigate across borders if I used the Automobile or Motorcycling profiles.
I could only think it was something to do with the roads somehow being designated as interstate highways & the cycling profiles don't permit those. You don't even have the option to include them even though the border crossings were perfectly acceptable roads for cycling.

Just and updated, disabled the Garmin maps and used the OpenFietsMap maps for Europe (http://www.openfietsmap.nl/) and the routing worked without any problem between Serbia-Hungary.
