Edge 1030 not connecting to Ultegra Di2

Hi.

I just got a Canyon Grail with Ultegra Di2. I’m trying to get it to connect to my 1030, with no success.

I have upgraded my Di2 via PC, no problems, my 1030 is upgraded. I tried rebooting it and I have also made a factory reset. No dice, the 1030 just won’t find the Di2.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Do you have a dfly installed in your bike?

I’m not sure, but I don’t think so. There are a BT-unit found thou, but it doesn’t seem to do anything.

If you have the latest D-Fly you should be able to put the unit in to Bluetooth mode by briefing pressing the button on the Di2 junction/charging port. You can then use the e-tube phone app to pair with it and update the software on it. You cannot update the software on the new D-fly units using a PC. If the phone app cannot find it then you may not have one. They are not standard in a Di2 installation, so unless you asked for one to be added you will not have one.

I got a d-fly last year, only to find the battery I had needed upgrading too as that’s where some of the intelligence is in the system. I had to get a Shimano Di2 BT-DN110 Internal Battery.

Correct. The latest version of the D-fly does also require the latest version of the internal or external battery. I was assuming this was a new bike so it should come with the required battery version to support the EW-WU111.

External BM-DN100, Built-in type: BT-DN110

Agree, it *should* come with the newest battery. But my 2017 Focus Izalco Max that I bought last year didn’t. So it’s definitely something to check.

That is what I did with my Canyon Aeroad. You should also check which battery is used. My Aeroad had the correct one.

My battery is the correct one as far as I can tell. Haven't received the adapter yet thou.

I got it all up and running, and now it works as it should. Good stuff, even thou I like eTap better... ;-)
