Lost Activity Profiles

Getting on my bike this morning ready to go for a 30 mile ride and discovered that my Edge 1030 had lost my Outdoor activity profile. Apparently last weekend after taking a ride, Garmin Express updated the code on the 1030 and wiped out all activity profiles except Indoor. Any clue on how I get the Edge back to where it was prior to the update? How do I get my customized data screens back. Do I reset the device to factory defaults and then recreate my customized data screens?

From searching the Forums apparently losing activity profiles isn't uncommon and you need to rename the default activity profiles or back them up before upgrading to protect yourself. unbelievable!

The About screen on the Edge hows Software Version 5.00 (ff63577084c271).

I appreciate any help you folks can provide.

Upon further examination the Settings folder contains a Settings.fit with a datetime stamp matching the date of the firmware upgrade. The Sports folder contains a CyclingIndoor_CycleINDOOR.fit with a datetime stamp also matching the data of the firmware upgrade. That folder also contains a CyclingRoadROAD.fit with an earlier datetime stamp. If this is where Garmin stores the profiles I'm curious why that profile isn't shown using the device. Looks like the Activities folder contains all of my recent rides. Also looks like the Courses folder contains my recently defined course.

Garmin is such a piece of (I guess I am not allowed to type that) that it's incredible.
Happened to me also, profile came back when I tried to create a new one. Took me about 20 minutes to figure it out.
