I am a few days in to a 2000 km cycling tour of Southern France. I have been pretty happy with the OSM maps I have but I did modify them to appear the way I wanted by changing the typ file But I have been flicked off by the following distance to destination freezes or changes to full route distance, screen takes 30 seconds to respond due to a strava route playing up (i deleted almost everything before discovering the cause) data fields keep changing themselves , elevation profile useless beyond 100 km as it won't zoom, and always display route goes away. The big plus is the 1030 features mean I had to buy a smart phone and it is brilliant for navigating. Overall, pitched off to the max.
I have found a work around for the elevation zoom issue on courses greater than 100km. Load a short course onto the garmin. Start the course and zoom in on the elevation. Stop this course and start the one you want and the elevation zoom will start from where it was. Don't zoom out to 25 km or you won't be able to zoom back in. A new issue, I am currently in a large city but cannot get a satellite lock.
