Next firmware after v5.00...?

There is also an issue when using the Edge 1030 and adding the Varia RTL 500. It cause the 1030 to going into an ongoing loop of Forming the Light Network. This causes the Varia HL 500 and the 2 Varia TL 300, to cycle on and off sporadically. It does not stop till you remove the Varia RTL 500 from the light sensors.

I've got a Varia RTL 500, and haven't had a problem with it on my 1030 running 5.0. Perhaps its a combination of this and your other lights causing the problem? If this is a consistent issue, you should report it with support.
Hey Shawn-Garmin just confirming, is posting on these forums enough for issues to be recognised by Garmin, or should a support ticket be raised?

peterlip8_ thanks for the details. I encourage customers who have this type of issue to reach out to our support team to open a ticket. The support team members will ask detailed questions and get the .fit files and Garmin folders collected into the ticket which is difficult to do on the forums.

We are targeting the end of the month for the next software release.

I really would like to have access to bug/feature tracking system. It would be a big help and probably would avoid frustration a little bit...

I understand, that it is not easy to have completely open software development, on the other hand the HW part could be completely open and with open bootloader hackers could squeeze out maximum from all old equipment. Might be possible that open software would be better than originally provided by Garmin (for example I would definitely get a marine plotter or any older aviation equipment).

Btw. Are there any plans to update livetracking? Its stability is really bad, and the whole technology is 5 years old (or older?) I really would like to see tracking of all data (like hr, power,...), have an option to upload map/route to destination (at least flollow a route as on InReach devices) with all useful metrics and have permanent link to livetrack for family and friends (and api&webhooks are just a wet dream). Just look on wahooligan or Quarq Qollector... Or just have a similar service like Spot Event tracking, but with InReach device :)

My Edge 1030 just updated to Firmware Version 6.0. Can't find any release notes past 5.28 beta. I was on Beta and I don't see any obvious changes. I assume this is just a stable release from 5.28.
