Strave Live Segments on / or with active map display

Something I would really really like to have. Using Strava Live Segments with twirly MTB trails is a pain in the ass. Having segments active means that the map screen always changes to segment screen which is nice to have but I can only choose between layouts of "grade", "record distance" and "data fields" and such more. No option to turn on or add a map screen/navigation to the segment screen. For roadbike segments this is mostly ok since the segments almost always tend to be straight in a line with not many choices to make concerning bends and intersections. For mountainbiking this is something completely different. For lots of ways/trails you travel you have to have open eyes for intersections and trail directions. When this is hidden because the map/navigation screen changes to segment screen (with seemingly no option to turn on a small map display on that screen) you often run off the active segment because you missed THAT ONE intersection to follow the segment or you just run of course or worst - you just don't see that the trails goes in a direction / downhill steepness you can't see because your OSM MTB map is hidden.

Of course you can end the segment or swipe back screens to your map screen - but hey, I want the live segments, I don't want to skip that feature. What is needed in my opinion is therefore a solution where you either have the option to turn/configure on a small map somewhere on the segment data screen or the option to include a brief live segment data field on the base of the map screen. anyone seeing this like me?
  • since there is no answer whatsoever I assume that all is well with the current way it works? seems the only way to see the segment on map is swiping back to the map screen when a segment is active. Is that everything that can be done?
  • I am looking at using Live Segments on a watch, not an Edge. However, from what I can tell Navigation and Live Segments cannot be in use simultaneously, which doesn't make sense to me. I'm going to a trail in the woods that has lots of turns. Without navigation or a map view, I won't know which way the Segment goes. That just doesn't make sense...
