Firmware 5.0, don't work strava segment

Yes, I had the same yesterday...
It started with the fact that upon starting up the 1030 it did not connect to the phone (Samsung Note 8) automatically. I had to open GC and then it did...
Then, going out on the ride I was expecting the LiveTrack to start automatically, but no, it wouldn't... I tried number of times to reopen the GC, tried to put LiveTrack on manual and back but still nothing. Eventually I started it manually and then it worked (together with the Strava Beacon).
Lastly upon entering my starred segments, I saw the segment drawn with green line on my map, but it wouldn't start - no xxx meters to go, no comparison etc.
3 hours later upon finishing my ride and going back home I passed next to another segment and surprise surprise... it started counting.
No clue what was wrong yesterday, I will give it another try today see how it goes.

I have the same issue. I get no segments either. It doesn't even draw like IceLed. Any ideas how to fix it?

Mine worked this morning on all segments but i have phone connection/bluetooth off. Time ahead/behind is not as stable as my 820 unit on old FW from a year ago. Hate the multiple last person/pr/kom times display. Should just allow PR or KOM in settings and have time ahead green window or behind red window open and be stable not up and down 5-10 seconds! I have auto select set to off and it still seems to be juggling the various time stats up for last person/pr/kom when in the segment my preference is kom and is set for that.

This wasn’t working on my first ride after updating to 5.0 but after re connecting to my computer all now seems fine.

When the feature is working properly, will it recognize only the starred segments, or will recognize any Strava segment that you come across on your ride?

This is one feature that is working well on mine and apart from one segment it has worked ok from new. Seems to work when BT drops out so I take it it doesn't need a phone connection.

I solved the problem
I had done the update without connecting the instrument to the PC using the wifi connection
the application garmin connect on the phone told me that the segments were very active and I showed them all but when I connected the instrument to the PC I found only 4 active strava segments
at this point I deactivated the segments and I activated them again
I started garmin express and the program presented the new installation of all the strava segments
now the segments work regularly

i chased a segment KOM today and the 1030 beep'd on the entry near the start and then 'GO' at the begining of the segment but did not give a final indication of segment end or time. Had to wait until i finished my ride to upload and view it. It was almost like the 1030 thought i was off segment or something at the end?
