Since 4.0 came out I had nothing but problems. I had strange resets for no reason, Strava Segments crashed the Garmin, I would lose connection to my power meters and had random warnings for non-existent turns. The beta firmwares, along with gimping functionality by disconnecting it from my phone, fixed it mostly. Today I installed 5.0 and went out on a ride with it connected to my phone and with Strava Segments turned on. Everything was perfect! No crashed, no issues with Strava Segments and not a single freeze or lost signal on my power meter. Seems like 5.0 fixed everything for me so far.
I've strangely found two BT connections on my S8+ recently. I certainly never paired two on GCM re-install. BT seems more stable so far. Texts working, live track works (but only with one contact and not on a planned Strava route)
Everything worked for me on a 10-mile ride yesterday. Livetrack auto-started, texts worked (receive and send tested after turning on device), navigating a course stored on 1030 that was created in GC, ride auto-uploaded to GC and Strava at the finish. I am using 5.0 and I am paired during the ride with Samsung S7E that was just upgraded to Oreo 8.0 (Verizon). I do turn off wifi on my phone while I ride and I never enable wifi on 1030. Early on this seemed helpful and now I do it out of habit. Sensors connected quickly (Garmin cadence, speed and HR).
Another successful ride completed. This time 125km. Everything worked perfect. Connection to phone, HR- & CAD-sensors. Di2!. When I turned out from my home driveway I lost connection to the phone. I thought what the fu#k. Then I realized that my phone was nor in my back pocket it was still on the table at home. :o So I turned around and back on the driveway it connected to the phone again!.
