So I notice with the 1030 a number of odd issues with Strava Live segments synchronizing with the unit compared to Edge 1000. I am still on 1030 firmware 3.90 because I don't want to deal with bugs of all the newer versions, not sure if newer 4.x versions fix anything with the following issues. With Edge 1000 I am used to the behavior with Live Segments. Star a segment in Strava, it synchronizes to Garmin within 10-15s via BT phone connection. All segments starred in Strava (currently 43) show up in unit. No question about things. Nice message pops up on unit "Delete segments" or "Updating Segments" Letting me know exactly what is happening.
Now comes 1030 which I would expect to work the same. Specifically I'm referring to the area from the home screen "Training->Strava Live Segments" which I believe is the area where the downloaded offline stored segments are put.
1. Segments seem to take a long time to download/synchronize from phone. I can star a segment in Strava and it seems 3-5 minutes before I notice the unit downloading something. Usually the message goes by so quickly, it is hard to know what exactly it is updating.
2. Not all starred segments show up on the device. At first I was confused, but finally did some checking and out of my first 20 starred segments, 7 were missing on the 1030. No idea why, some had short names, some long, some climbs, some descents, some flat. Just randomly they were not there. Again all were fine on 1000. If I unstar and then restar the segment in Strava, it sometimes will show up on the 1030, hard to tell exactly how it works. These missing segments are very disconcerting, I starred a few segments for a ride the other day and only half of them got loaded into 1030, so I had to ride the others blind. No problems in the past with the 1000 for this.
3. If I unstar a segment and 1030 synchronizes and I go to Training-Strava Live segments, it seems things get re-ordered or messed up. Specifically I have one segment I have disabled and I know the name of it. After this type of synchronization I will go and it will show the name of a different segment as disabled. If I click on it, I get some odd display with either the false segment or the truly disabled one. Best way to restore seems to reboot 1030. Seems a bug in this
Anyone else having these issues?
