Edge 1030 FREEZES and loses HR & Power exactly 90 min into a ride

What is going on here Garmin? After the 4.0 update on my $600 Edge 1030 the unit freezes exactly 90 minutes into every ride. I have to power cycle the unit in order to get it to function. Is there any way to fix this or do I have to wait until they roll out a firmware fix?

I reported a similar crash yesterday. I had this the last several long rides.
May 27 crashed 1h22min into the ride. I had the Edge powered on several minutes before the start since it was a mass start, so 90min sounds about right.
May 26 crashed 1h22min into the ride,

Both were FW 4.24. So there seems to be something time sensitive here. I will monitor and report the next crashes (sic).

Simular here but it is not dependi g on 90 minutes. In both freezes i was riding a tour with lifetrack ensbled. First freeze was after 3 hours. Second freeze was in 30 minutes.

This is a known problem introduced with FW 4.0. The problems happens with Bluetooth/BLE connections. If your sensors support ANT+, use this option.

My Edge 1030 did freeze today at the end of the ride. Pulse went to zero, and when I pressed the end ride button, the Edge froze up. Couldn't save the ride until I did a power cycle.
Ride time was around 100 minutes.

fw 5.0.0.0

Apparently the problem is not solved.

Edit: A side effect of the freeze is that the ride did not add up in the Training load, andtraining effect was not calculated.
