New Public Beta 4.24 Now Available

A new Beta software for the Edge 1030 has been released. Full change log, instructions, and software for installing the beta can be found here.
  • For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
  • In the process of troubleshooting reported issues we may access information in your Garmin Connect account, such as your activity files. More information about Garmin's privacy policies can be found at: http://www.garmin.com/en-US/legal/privacy-statement
  • Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.
[h=4]Changes made from version 4.11 to 4.24:[/h]
  • Fixed a crash when racing a rival effort on a segment with a long name.
  • Improved text message notifications by removing the requirement for Garmin Connect Mobile to have Android SMS and Contacts permissions.
  • Added support for receiving and replying to texts from other providers (e.g. Facebook, Google Hangouts).
  • Fixed crash when using audio prompts.
  • Fixed incorrect sharp bend warnings when riding on a course.
  • Fixed misaligned text when performing an address search.
  • Note: This public beta does not address the BLE and LiveTrack issues that have been reported with 4.00. We will provide another update as soon as the issues are resolved.
[h=2]Installation Instructions[/h]
  • Connect your Edge 1030 device to your computer using the micro-USB cable.
  • Download and unzip Edge1030_424Beta.zip and place the GUPDATE.gcd file in the \Garmin folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  • Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the Edge, and wait for the update to finish.
  • If you would like to revert to the last public release software, follow the above steps but place the GUPDATE-400.GCD file in the \Garmin folder. Rename the file to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device.
NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.

  • I'm still surprised people want fb msg notifications. For me it would be a definitive suicide while riding a bike. :)

Still no notifications from facebook messenger.

I went out on my bike for an hour to beat the forecasted rain without seeing any issues. However when i got home to train on my wattbike the ride stopped showing speed/froze at 4.69 miles!
Not ever done that before yesterdays update! All my sensors on the spin bike are on Ant+.
  • One minor issue in my 2,5h ride. DI2 reconnected once and that's all.

Bluetooth is off on my edge.

Wi-Fi upload after ride without issue.
  • 4.24 update worked good on the device but now GE it says " there was an error synchronizing with Garmin Connect "

On 3.97 1030 normally mounted as USB on iMac. Ever since, once again I have to do lap button trick. Frustrating as hell.
  • Yes, yes, yes!!!
Today everything was working well during the ride.
    I had connected:
    1. Galaxy S9 Edge - once broken connections,
    2. Di2- I did not notice the problem.
    3. Vector 3 - before the ride one time the message about the breakdown of the right sensor connection, then there were no problems.
    4. Speed sensors - OK,
    5. Edge Remote Control - 3, maybe 4 times freez,
    6. Varia Radar - I did not notice the problem.

    Apps used:
    1. Training Peaks - no problems,
    2. Strava Segments - no problems,
    3. Autoupload do Connect.Garmin.com - no problem.

I will test Varia Vision in the near future.

    Finally something positive. Bravo.
  • I can confirm we are working on the LiveTrack and BT issues. I do understand the frustration and we are working to get a patch out soon that corrects those issues.

    Fixed! Let's wait and see!

Sorry Voytheck, of course I‘m happy that you are happy
And sorry, Garmin, I know that the remote-issue was not adressed in that update.

Shawn-Garmin I want to know if the loss of connection with the remote control has a solution, if it can not be fixed I want to return my edge.
