@ Martin868 What a weird response.

No Problem, we have the same on the Fenix 6 with road cycling. I thake the Profile from my Edge and now on the Fenix it works fine.
I have only the German Version. You need somone to give you under sport…
There are configuration options in the GPS software that have been set to optimize it for cycling use. Currently the Edge is not configured to support the lower speeds associated with walking/hiking.
It could support it, but would need a different sport profile with its own set of GPS settings. As the product is sold as a cycling computer I don't see Garmin adding support for hiking/walking.
I actually carry my old Edge 1000 when in the mountains as a GPS unit, not so much to use to log an activity, but as to get me out if need be...
The do-it-all device is the Fenix watch, not the Edge bike computer. Garmin has a right to design it's products. As a consumer we are free to buy their design, or not.

As a consumer we are encouraged to exchange information with Garmin and other users on the forum provided by the company. Polite requests for features seem acceptable to me, as does criticism if well founded and evidenced. The fenix watch does not attach to my handlebars or let me read it whilst at speed, so is just another do-some-of-it device
For those wanting a walking app, I have just purchased a 1030 plus and discovered the Hike 2 app on IQ connect. Seems to do the job but is not very configurable in the way the built in profiles are. Only had 2 very short walks to test it with so far.
