Pioneer Power Meter - What Garmin metrics are valid

I have a Pioneer dual-sided power meter that was running in the Pioneer proprietary mode which uses their SGX-500A computer as an ANT+ bridge to send Power Meter data to the Garmin Edge 1030. I want to play with changing the mode on the Pioneer so that I no longer need the SGX-500A computer. I realize that I won't get the 12degree power readings or any of Pioneers proprietary ANT+ data, however, it should send separate left & right power among other things. I would like to know what other Garmin Power metrics will be valid (hopefully without having to go thru each and every data power field and add it and see if it works/is valid). Will any of the "Cycling Dynamics" data fields be valid?

Thanks, in advance.
  • Though cycling dynamics is part of a public ANT+ specification Pioneer have not implemented it. What you will get through their ANT+ implementation is power, cadence, power balance, torque effectiveness and pedal smoothness.
  • Somewhat related question... will the power metrics (measured by the Pioneer power meter and tracked through a Garmin computer) be visible in Garmin Connect?

[Seems like "Yes" should be the obvious answer, but I'd like to make sure before investing in the power meter.)
