Hi Everyone,

My Vector 3 pedals are paired with the 1030 and the power meter data fields on all the other screens work fine but the Cycling Dynamics on my 1030 remains blank. Any suggestions to fix this ?

Pair with ant +, Turn off BLE ..
  • After confirming that you are paired over ANT and not BLE check that Cycling Dynamics is enabled under the Vector features option in the the sensor details.

    Thx.
I tried disconnecting my phone and repairing the Vector 3 but they still show as paired via Bluetooth.
How do I force them to pair via Ant+ ?
  • I can't remember if the V3s behave like other devices that support both ANT+ and BLE pairing, but if they do they should show on your 1030 as two separate devices, one for each pairing. If so, just delete (or disable) the Bluetooth instance of the sensor from your 1030 and it will only be able to connect over ANT+
  • Hi there,

Unfortunatelly I having the same issue and I cannot find any other help in internet.

I paired the V3 pedals with the Edge 1030 making sure it was a ANT+ connection. I paired the right pedal within Edge 1030 as well. I did a short cycling and the Cycling Dynamic screen shows absolutly no data.

Then I synced anyway the Edge 1030 with Garmin Connect and I can see for that cycling the Watts timeseries plot (also de average) but not the individual L/R plot.

I reseted the Edge 1030 and the pedals (by removing the batteries) and paired again the devices. Still I cannot see any Cycling Dynamic data on the Edge screen.

    Any help please?
  • Did you enable it under the sensor details for V3.? Check that the left and right pedals are paired with each other. You can do this under the sensor details. If it gives the option to pair to the right pedal then they are not paired. If it gives the option to unpair then they are already paired.
  • Yes I did. The option 'unpair the right pedal' is displayed.

I also made sure that not other device was conected with the pedals but only the Edge device. I read somewhere that if you have the pedals connected to the Garmin Connect mobile app via Bluetooth can be a problem. So I unpaired the pedals and I even switched off my phone! (I know this is no necesary but it was desesperation move), reset the pedas by removing the batteries and pair them again with Edge. I also did a hard reset on the Edge and try again, no luck!

It's quite frustrating. I guess I will go back to the shop and discuss this with the staff there. But right now I feel like giving back the pedals and the Edge.

I would be glad if it exists an entired video showing all the details of the pairing process of these two particular devices. This combo "edge 1030-v3" seems to be quite popular. Normally the pairing is just mentioned on the current videos but details are not shown.
  • Can you post the settings.fit file from the Garmin\Settings folder here? I will take a look at the sensor configuration.

I'm amazed at how helpful this forum is for users of the 1030. Apart from a few drama queens and kings, the dialogue is courteous and informative. Thanks to all the experts on this forum.
  • Hi Alan,

Sorry I do not have the file anymore since. I did a hard reset on the Edge.

The good news is that now it works. I went to the shop and we reseted everything again (pedals and the edge) and finally it worked fine. Unfortunatelly I cannot say what step I did wrong previously (if any, I have the impresion I did exactly what the guy on the shop did).

Probably, as I commented already, it would be quite useful to have a deteailed video showing the full procedure. It's only my opinion. It would have been useful for me at least.

I just want to thank to Alan for your fast answer, your time and your interest on solving this problem. You make one not to feel alone solving the problem.

    Best wishes,
    Alberto
