Hi Everybody, is everybody else facing issues with coonecting the EDGE 1030 to a Mac? I have tried everything and I cant find a pattern. Once it is recognized and other times it isn't. This is really frustrating!
I found both my E1000 and E1030 sensitive to the cable used. When using a higher quality cable have not had an issue however sometimes if I just grab one I have laying around have had issues going into mass storage mode. Lastly, make sure Garmin Express is configured and running in the background.
Hi All, Thanks for the answers! I have tried multiple cables. The original GARMIN and others its the same. I followes also a How-To in order to force the EDGE but this didn't work either. Same cable used on a Windows PC and it worked. I tried it at two Mac's. One iMac and a MacBook 2015. Both have problems with the USB connections.
If you're talking about mounting as USB, I have the same problem, tried multiple cables, as well as original Garmin. However, I found the solution somewhere here on forum; when connecting 1030 to Mac, press and hold left (lap) button and it will mount as USB, allowing you to update firmware and drop things to NewFiles folder :)
Force to Mass Storage - Turn unit off. Hold the lap/reset button while plugging the unit into the USB. Continue holding the lap/reset for 30 seconds and the unit should go to mass storage.
