I was using it in Mallorca a couple of weeks ago. The cities / POI's were only say 10-15 miles away. I usually live in the United Kingdom. I have the following maps enabled: INTL Standard Basemap, NR Garmin Cycle Map EU 2017.10 Edge DEM Map EU 2014.10 Garmin Geocode Map EU 2017.10
Ok, then I‘m on my wits’ end... There is nothing bad I can find in your information. (Usually using more than one routable map enabled may lead to calculation problems, and it was reported, Australian an NewZealand devices have problems with INT Basemap enabled...)
A couple of thoughts. Is either the start or destination on a road that is not permitted by the active profile settings, or too far away from a routable road. Is it impossible for any route to be completed between to two points because of profile settings (unpaved roads, etc).
Is the error happening in the initial calculation, or after commencing the journey?
For me the important thing is what happens after the route calculation error is shown, presumably white text on a black stripe at the bottom of the screen with a tick mark is shown. If so, does the unit then calculate without problem after cancelling the error message.
I have an Edge 1000, I would rarely use city or POI as a destination, but I do used saved points and navigate a course, and I see this error fairly regularly. Sometimes I can see a context (I am on a road mapped as no for bicycles), mostly I don't, but I can't recall an instance that the unit didn't sort out the issue itself (after accounting for the problem that mcinner1 noted in the previous post).
Thank you for your thoughts guys. The error is happening in the initial calculation. My wife has a 1000 and has no such problems and we have the same settings. I'll try it a bit more in the Uk and see if it was a Mallorca thing! :)
