Detecting the right gear by sensor or activity profile

Hi together,

I'm using my Edge 1030 on three different bikes (indoor, MTB, Racing) and also three bikes have their own sensors (for sure).
Isn't it possible the select the correct standard gear in Garmin Connect by the sensors automatically?
If not is there any way to set the standard gear based on activity profile?
In the moment I just found to set the standard gear on garmin connect based of activities means one for running, one for Cycling and so on.
One of these two solutions would be very helpful.

Did I miss something or is this function not possible in the moment?

It's not a bug if the behavior is by design.

Submit a suggestion to Garmin (link is above) if you want a modification. If enough people request the modification, they might consider it.

I wouldn't count on it though.

I think the best solution is to link equipment to activity profiles. Not sure why this feature does not yet exist, but will add to the suggestion box.

I would love to see bikes added to profiles. Up to now I had a garmin for each bike so it was easy. Now I use the one device between all bikes and rather than having the same bike added to all profiles, it would be much better to add specific bike to a specific profile. Garmin please sort this with your software developers

I would like that, too.
It's funny that you can define different equipment like bikes in Garmin Connect, but not on the Edge. So each activity is initially assigned to the default bike, and then you have to manually choose the right bike.
Not thought to the end...
(Whereas I have no problem with the sensor pool per se...)

Either by sensor, or by activity profile, it only makes sense to select gear by some automated method. I also have wised for this since 2018.
