Incident detection on 1030

Hi, I have enabled incident detection on 1030, 3.90 firmware. One thing is that it is too trigger happy, and other thing is that it cannot be canceled.
First I get big screen with countdown 25 to zero or something like that to cancel it. I cancel it, then I get another screen saying something similar, with black "strap" text on the bottom that I need to cancel it if I don't want to alert contacts. That black "strap" text cannot be pressed, it is the same as information text "ride paused", or "ride continued". It's not a button, rather information.
So I have to send alert to my contacts, although nothing happened. On one occasion, I continued to ride, when I got 3 phonecalls at the same time :)
On other occasion, 1030 offered me to send update to my condition, saying that I'm OK. The contacts got TEN e-mails saying that I'm OK.

Bottom line? I think I will disable incident detection...

Yep, the incident detection is totally useless. All you have to do is an abrupt slow-down to trigger it. Cell phones have had 3D accelerometers for over a decade now, I can't believe Garmin tried to implement this in such a brain-dead way. As for not being able to cancel from the 1030, I found the same thing. You have to take your phone out and cancel from the Garmin Connect mobile app (which is especially annoying if you get a false incident without actually coming to a full stop since now you have to pull over and stop to dig your phone out of your pocket).

I also disabled the feature, unfortunately it will periodically re-enable itself.

This function does not work predictably, just like warning about sharp corners.
They can not be trusted, which is why the only reasonable option is to disable them.
    And driving in peace ...

After the countdown and when you get that screen, you have to leave the finger pressing continuously (in that area) for a few seconds until it is canceled, that simple, I also went crazy until I found it

Went out for the first time in months due to injury and the crash detection kicked in 3 times on my 65 mile ride. Is it because i have hydraulic brakes or is it just too sensitive? May have to turn it off which is a shame as it could be a great feature if perfected when youve been taken out by a driver like i have been previously!
