I've been comparing the GPS accuracy of my 1030 with my previous 1000, a friend's 1000, and my wife's Explore 1000, and the 1030 is by far the worst of the three. The 1030 is using current 3.90 FW and the 1000 and Explore 1000 also have whatever their current FW is. I have GPS accuracy setup as one of the data fields on the screen, and the 1030 will be claiming 3m accuracy while the track it is showing/recording is up to 50m out. I exported some GPX traces from the various GPSs for a a couple of rides where we were riding together, and uploaded them to openstreetmap.org to compare. Here are links to some screen dumps to show what I mean - all screen dumps show the scale at bottom left:
Trace from friend's 1000: https://photos.app.goo.gl/IzyVZVmFaIpwemvn2
Same section of road from my 1030 on the same ride - the trace is about 50m out, though the 1030 was indicating 3m accuracy: https://photos.app.goo.gl/PGnQIBOR96h5BYcJ3
Trace from wife's Explore 1000 (we're riding on the yellow road, Phillip Ave): https://photos.app.goo.gl/onh0uNG5irLk0nuB3
Same section of road from my 1030 on same ride: https://photos.app.goo.gl/78JQUiwoRz0gDw842
Frequently, if I have a course loaded and am navigating it, the GPS accuracy is so far out that the 1030 tells me that I'm off course, even though I'm riding on the correct road. And all the time it's telling me that its accuracy is 3m.
