SMS notifications remain after reading/deleting

For unknown reason the notifications for SMS (not for calls) remain under my notifications even after I read it and even deleted it. I replaced my Edge and after sync I can see messages that aren't in my phone anymore but was sent before via Garmin connect to the old Edge. It lead me to understand that the messages are stuck within Garmin connect servers and not getting released.
Is there anyway I can delete those notifications?

I had the same issue recently. I got the sender to send another message and then I sent a message back and it cleared.
  • This is definitely not a solution for the problem.. Anyone else is suffering from the same issue?
  • I'm dealing with the same SMS issue. My edge 1030 is on Ver 3.85 and until now, everything is working fine.
  • We are investigating reports of messages not clear off the device. I will post an update once we have a resolution.

    Thanks for your comment,
As stated in the first post this must be an issue of the Garmin connect keeping the SMS within it's servers (otherwise deleted messages wouldn't appear in the new device).
Any chance there will be an option to receive notification for calls only? (I don't really need the SMS notifications as the majority of them are written in Hebrew and cannot be displayed on the Edge anyhow..
  • 3.90 The problem is always there :-(

I have had one particular message stuck on my garmin 1030 for a couple of months. I sent this unit away for warranty and have received what appears to be a brand new replacement 1030 (at least garmin express thinks it is another garmin).
The new garmin 1030 has the same stuck message!

The other thing is the message was sent to my phone when my garmin was turned off, so i don't know how it appeared on my garmin in the first place.
  • The message must be cached in GCM somehow.

That's exactly what I thought. I have looked in GCM to try and find where that would be but I can't find it.
I think if I reply to the message it might go away, but I'd rather try and find the cause.

Hopefully this info might help an engineer pinpoint the issue and not waste time looking at the 1030 as the cause.

Ok, I deleted the message thread off my phone, turned on my Garmin and the message was gone. Somehow GCM is picking up some old messages and continuing to display them
