I would like to see smaller steps for trainer resistance using smart trainers, like 5% steps instead of 10% steps. This would make it easier to stay hit a particular power zone and not get stuck with a cadence that is too high or too low due to gearing. Many people doing things like steady state intervals don't use power targets as they are pacing vs their respiration rate, and power is an outcome not a setting.
Also it would be great to have resistance as something that can be set as part of a structured work out for intervals. With resistance set a person can drift up or down a bit using cadence going by feel instead of having a set target in watts you can't escape easily. Right now, at the start of each interval when I have no target set because I am pacing, the resistance goes to zero by default, and I have to go to the fumble around setting resistance, then go back to the screen I am watching to do the interval as the data screen that sets resistance doesn't have the information I want to look at.
