Hi,

is it possible to install this map in 1030?

I'm trying with several free files and I have not gotten any idea of the problem?

  • Not a ideal situation but if maps are purchased on sd card not downloaded the card can be moved between devices.

Postcodes are included in "Garmin Geocode Map", which was delivered pre-installed on your Edge 1030.
Look at "Activityprofile - Navigation - Maps" and enable it.
("Geocode Map" is not really a map but a database with cities, streetnames, postcodes...)

    Thanks.

That was already enabled. It seems that the problem is not so much a lack of postcodes, but the way they have been implemented. You only get to type in a partial postcode and then it goes into a house number and street look up rather than allowing you to enter the full postcode and then just the house numbers. It's other convoluted. Is there a better way?
  • The Garmin Cycle Maps are terrible, they do not properly show most dirt roads and include roads that are no longer passable.  City Navigator is far superior.  Can you use the City Navigator Micro SD on the Garmin 1030?

  • Current Garmin City Navigator maps on SD from Garmin are not compatible with the 1030.

  • Why?  Is it truly "not compatible" or Garmin does not want to unlock them?  I used both Cycle Map and City Navigator on my Edge Touring.  City Navigator is far superior to Cycle Maps.  Using Cycle Maps for routing gets you into unsafe areas quickly as it is terribly inaccurate.
