Garmin Europe Cycle Map update policy

My Edge 1030 has the Australian Garmin Cycle Map installed which I hope will automatically update indefinitely the same as Garmin maps on my old Edge Touring. Now I need maps for European holidays.

I have used maps from http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl which work well but I prefer the search functions and automatic updating of the Garmin versions, so I am considering buying the Garmin Europe Cycle Map, but I cannot find anything about updating this map on the Garmin website. It would be expensive if it did not update or only did so for a limited time.

I wonder if this map, when installed on a 1030, updates automatically the usual way and if so for how long?

In garmin express, does your map appears into Your 1030 device > "Tools and contents" > "Bought" (were update or download shows). If it does call the support, you should get an answer right away.

Bobofoz, I bought the Europe Maps in April 2017 and they updated for 1 year. If you've created an account, then you will see your purchased maps under your profile in a section titled Subscriptions and Content.

i have just had the same issue i bought a garmin europe 2017 map and wondered why it didnt updated and asked garmin support,and got the reply that bought maps doesnt update...
well thats the last time garmin is selling a map to me thats for sure!!!! it will be free openstreetmaps from now on and forward

If you bought the map it's made clear at the time it doesn't update. It's the same for automotive maps. The only maps that update are ones pre-installed oñ your device.

never saw any notice anywhere it wouldnt update and if i had seen it i would in no way have payed for the map

Does anyone have same problems after update to 2018.10 map? Problem is the name of the towns are not shown anymore on the map, i can only see names of lakes/seas but only in e few cases i can see the town names, -i'm wondering nobody else wrote about that here, i am the only one with that problem or is there any suggestion how to be able to see the name of the towns again after the map update?

I installed velomaps instead of that Garmin maps and i am really pissed of that edge 1030. velomaps works fine for me, but i will initiate a replacement of my device before warranty ends. I also have the blue halo problem, i will never buy again something from Garmin!
