Acquiring and losing satellites

Hi I've noticed the following issue: when I turn my device on, and after it has acquired satellites, it begins acquiring and losing satellites. I haven't tried it yet I'm my bike just in my car and for about 20 minutes but never stays with all the satellites signal. Anybody has the same issue?
thanks

Fixed Issue: in v4.0 of the firmware I've fixed this issue by selecting GPS+GLONASS. No more lost satellites.
  • Not fixed. It still happens to me.
  • I had a similar problem with an Oregon 700 - kept losing position after about 3 hours use. Turning off/on, swithcing GLONASS off/on - in fact anything that forced the unit to relocate itself would correct the issue. I'd also noticed that there was a loss of accuracy over the 3 hours. I finally worked out that when the unit first got a fix, it would continue to track the satellites it found originally, but would never pick up any new ones coming into view. As it takes ~3 hours for half the satellites to disappear from view, this explained both the loss of accuracy and final failure to locate. After raising the issue with Garmin, they replaced it with a different unit - this replacement is fine.
