UT 800 light rattles on 1030 mount

When my UT 800 light is attached to the bottom of the 1030 mount there is a bit of play there which means the light rattles.
The older but slightly shorter mount which came with the light does not have this problem
Is the underside of the new mount only designed for the battery pack and is there a compatible longer 1030 mount available for my light?

Old and new (attached to light). ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1376974.jpg
  • I have had similar problems with this light and it’s quarter turn fitting. Garmin sent an improved replacement quarter turn mount but after a 2 month use ended up the same as the original, lose and rattling. So what do I do next? Have sent the updated mount back to Garmin. I don’t know what they can do? Have taken the light off the bike for now. Is there any other system around that will work?

Like others have mentioned, for me the solution has been to simply add a little piece of thick rubber-ish tape at the bottom of the mount, to take the slack. No more rattle. Simple and cost nothing.
