after few days of use I've seen 1030 temp value are constantly higher than real (and 520/1000 too). This difference is about 4 'C. A little few at about 25 'C (3,5 'C), and a little more near 0'C (4,5'C). Today I put 1000 and 1030 in refrigerator and they red 5.0/9.6 'C
My Edge 1030 has shown correct temperature until now. With the new 3.80 firmware installed, the one that promises "improved temperature reporting" its two degrees lower than real temperature, just as all my earlier Edge units.
This is crazy. Why do you always have to destroy working things.
Temperature readings under firmware 3.8 have improved. I rode on Saturday in a cold, windy, overcast day, real temps 40-55F (4-13C), Edge 1030 readings were spot on. However, I rode on Sunday, sunny day, real temps 45-62F (7-17C), with the Edge 1030 in the sun the Edge readings were 4-6F higher than actuals.
In my case, I had wrong temperature measurements (higher 3-4C degrees than real ones). Since 3.80 update, temperature readings are accurate and coincidental with some friends with Garmin 1000, 820, 510 and 520 in the range 0° to 15°C.
Yesterday near Paris the weather was very wet with little rain the real temperature was 2°C but the edge : - 1,5 °C. I didn''t see any ice on the road !! Like I said last week the edge underestimate of 3 ° C with 3.80 firmware (like with 3.77). It is the same problem with the edge 520.
Me too, with latest 3.8 it underestimates exactly 3 degrees, with previous updates I never had temp issues, it was always accurate. Is it possible to downgrade to the previous version?! (I’m having two more issues with 3.8 - it doesn’t show Garmin Segments riding a course and shutdown after uploading a course, never had these problem ever!!)
