Problem with screen Display brightness

The display of my Garmin Edge 1030 is very dark. The display on 100% will not light up.
On auto setting the screen display is also returning to 50% all the time.
What is wrong?

The display on the 1030 has been optimized for outdoor use. Indoors the color can look a little washed out. Try taking both units outside in to the sunlight and compare…

I was an Edge 1000 owner. The 1030 screen brightness is, at first, deceptive but in exchange, you'll get great battery perfornance even at full power. No need for the battery pack on long ride. And, for sure, you'll forget the 1000 and get use to it... or not !

i returned my because of dull screen. No thanks for 600$ i expect more than 1970 tv color pattern :-) my edge 830 and explorer has nice bright and colorful screen 1030 i don't care about thing bring it to sun light,...
