I'm having the same problem - the 1030 seems to "forget" the connection. It takes a few taps to wake it up before it responds. Sometimes it requires that I refresh the sensors in settings. In terms of pairings, I have an iPhone 7, Garmin speed and cadence sensors, Garmin HRM and Garmin Varia radar.
The same issue here! With all other sensors and the phone - no problem, but the remote is unstable, and as described above: somtimes it comes back by doing one tap, but sometimes the red led keeps blinking and one has to disable and enable again. Annoying...
I do not have this issue. The only thing I have changed is the behavior of the blue button. Changed it to "maps" with short push and "End ride" with long push. Don't know whether that could help?
