Connection and uploading issues

My edge 1030 will not connect to my iphone either. Tried the DCR steps as mentioned in other posts to no avail. The iPhone is connected but it will not sync and allow me to upload a ride.

The unit will also not upload the activity through WiFi either...it always fails.

I have even tried to connect the device to my mac through garmin express...but it will not even recognise the device.
The mac itself cannot even find/register the device.

So I thought I'd speak to Garmin support directly. They said I need to send the device back to them, and they would send me a refurbished device back. Bear in mind I have only had the device 1 day. A refurnished device when I bought a new one. Apparently this is their policy. I mean seriously!!!

So I'm sending it back to where I bought it and am going to either ask for a refund or an exchange for a new one.

I have the same issues. Phone is paired and will receive text or call notifications but will not auto upload when i save my ride. If you open Garmin connect mobile app - my device and click sync it will but who wants to do that!

I exchanged mine over the weekend and set up the new device. Went for a ride on Sunday and it uploaded immediately after I pressed save. Not sure if this was through Bluetooth and therefore my phone, or Wifi (as I was at home).
Also worked on this morning's commute (although again that could have been through WiFi).

Either way, it seems to work...apart from the elevation data which is a known issue at the moment.

I have this issue in the UK. Tried DCR instructions to no avail. Looked at the bluetooth connections on my iphone 7 and this is what ive found- Turn the 1030 on and Garmin 1030 is connected ok but BT_Edge 1030 is not. Open Garmin connect mobile app and it is. If i leave Garmin connect mobile app open in the background and finish a ride it auto uploads after i press save. A work-around until a update fixes it all i hope!
  • My edge 1030 has now decided not to sync with my phone so after many reboots of both I had to plug into the Mac and pull it from the unit into Garmin via Garmin Connect. This also revealed a second problem in that all activities are being recorded to the unit and not to the sd card despite the fact that the memory card has been selected when I first set the 1030 up. Any one else having this problem.
