Edge 1030 first ride

Very happy with the 1030 so far. I find the screen to be more responsive in comparison to my previous Edge 1000. Browsing around the maps is a breeze compared to the 1000.

No major bugs discovered so far. I had to end the first part of the ride as I wasn't able to switch to the navigation mode, while already recording an activity. Any ideas how this is done on the fly?

I do not understand what you mean exactly by "I wasn't able to switch to navigation mode." Were you not able to load a course while riding?

You should just be able to tap the bottom of the screen on any training page to bring up the page navigation overlay. Select the home icon to take you to the home page and from there the navigation icon.

Thanks, I will try that. I would have thought that triggering navigation would automatically end an activity that is running in the background.

Incorrect. I was just able to do it on the fly.
