The edge 1000 allowed you to select "display --> orientation --> horizontal". In the edge 1030, that option appears to be gone from the display menu and everywhere else I tried looking. Has anyone found this option in the edge 1030 yet? I wonder if this is an oversight, or if they are going to re-enable that feature in a future firmware update.
Yeah, don’t hold your breath waiting. It’s also not an option on the 1040, so I doubt it will ever see the light of day again. No one used it. I know a lot of people with 1030s and not a single one ever cared about the alternate orientation. Garmin came to the same conclusion.
The horizontal setting has been removed, among other things, because the Edge x30 screen is polarized. Turn the screen to a horizontal position and try to read something using polarized glasses. You can't, you will see a black surface of the screen.
