Cheap Bluetooth sensors

1030 accepts BT sensors.
I ride 5 separate bikes....road distance is accurate with gps only, but trails are not, as with any GPS device. The edge 1000 made wheel size specific to the sensor, requiring a manual setting change of wheel size when using one sensor for all bikes. I assume the 1030 is the same. I wish wheel size was set in the bike profiles.
So...I noticed sub $20 BT no brand sensors on eBay.
has anybody tried a cheaper sensor? It would be nice to have the wheelsize set on each bike. But I'd hate to get some wildly innacurate junk that isn't worth shipping back.

Sorry for not being clear , my question was for Edzo on what sensor type was used when pairing.

Md11pat - what you are describing suggests that there is a problem with the BLE implementation, either on the sensor or on the Edge.

The first time you paired you were using the DuoTrap BLE channel. The second time you were using the ANT channel. The communication type used is shown in the sensor details.

If the search shows a sensor name then it is the BLE channel.

Thank you, I will give it a try! Let you know if this will work.

With connecting my Garmin Radar via the "Radar" option in the menu no device was found.
When using the option "search all" I got the Radar to connect.
    It works well.

EDIT: The Trek DuoTrap works via the ANT+. Thanks a lot!!
