Running workouts

HI there,

I purchased a Garmin Swim 2 because I wanted to get a swimming watch, in ADDITION to running and cycling capabilities. I have since attempted to upload running workouts, for instance: the marathon planning coach as advertised by Garmin, but this will not upload to my Garmin Swim2, despite the app indicating it should.

It seems to me that Garmin have intentionally omitted the workouts feature for running, and instead only allowing this for swimming.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to activate these capabilities. Or have I been duped into buying a watch that is incredibly tailored to swimming, and nothing else. Yes, it can do basic running tracking. But what is stopping it from also being able to progress through workouts like the other watches? It seems to me that this is a software block, which surely should be fixed.

Please tell me if I am wrong.

Kind regards,

Micah

Swimming features include "pool swim workouts", but not running.

But what is stopping it from also being able to progress through workouts like the other watches?

Apparently the price, support for training for running and swimming is in watches that are more expensive than swim 2.

It seems to me that this is a software block, which surely should be fixed.

This is not a block, there is simply no corresponding software in them. The hope for the appearance of additional features in these watches is pointless in my opinion.

  • Each to their own opinion, but I think it is a shameful business strategy which has no regard for its customers. The truth is, the Swim 2 is not a cheap watch, and its painful to know the feature could available only if Garmin was not interested in swindling its customers into spending even more, despite the original product being fully capable (I imagine, again, I could be wrong here but I dont see how at this stage).

Oh well, this is becoming increasingly prevalent with big name companies. I wont be buying or recommending Gamin again, that's for sure.

    Have a great day.
