My original Garmin Swim (1) was stuck on Connect to Computer and / or data Transfer for weeks and I tried everything (new account, reimoved device, new battery, hard reset etc.) without success and about to binit. I left it on a radiator for a bit and the glass steamed up! Over the years some water had got in to it!! OK, back off, battery out, put it in dried rice for a week and "Voila", it works perfectly. The most likely cause of the above issue is water in your watch, simple!!
